Fame, money, and power- these are the things that this world considers true success. But God warned us about this fame thing when Jesus said “What good will it be for a man if he gains the whole world, yet forfeits his soul? Or what can a man give in exchange for his soul?” Matthew 16:26.  This is a great reminder for all of us, not just for the unbelievers but also for the Christians. A lot of famous people out there sold their souls in exchange for their high status, worldwide popularity, money and a very strong influence. But what for? To enjoy all those things for such a short period of time? Nah! The Bible reminds us that this world is not our permanent home and will soon be destroyed by fire.

This song of Toby Mac and Kirk Franklin is a true testimony of people in the limelight who choose eternal life rather than momentary pleasure. I like the message of this song so much and that hip-hop beat as well. I listen to it and contemplate on the message but still, I can manage to dance with the tune as if I am chilling out.

This video is from Hillsong entitled Your Name High. The intro part of the song which is ‘wwwhhhooooooaaaa’ will really get your vocal cords all fired up. From singing to praising, dancing to offering, this is one song that boldly speaks the sovereignty of Christ. It encourages us believers to live a life that glorifies our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, despite of the many persecutions we face from our day to day existence. The song is simple and plain yet conveys a very powerful message to the world.

Worship leader- Hillsong Church Australia

His name is Joel Houston, a worship leader in the Hillsong Church Australia. He is also the son of the church’s senior pastors, Brian and Bobbie Houston.Personally, I like his voice. His pitch is kind of high for a man but he still hits the notes. I like his song-writing style too. The music is a real bomb. The drum beats gets your feet to dancing and jumping. So, say what they want but we will still continue livin’ our all for Christ.

In The Sea of Faces

September 26, 2009 at 3:30 p09 (Reviews and more)

If there is one song I’ve been listening to over and over again these past few days, this is definitely it! Sea of Faces by Kutless. (I just posted a video, though.) The message of the song and its melody really caught my attention.  The chorus goes something like this..

“I’m not just a man vastly lost in this world.

Lost in the sea of faces”

There are billions of people moving around this planet and I am greatly amazed of how God carefully looks over to each and every single creature. I am not the only person who has a big luggage of troubles in life yet God still sees and hears me.

“Your body’s the bread, Your blood is the wine. Because You traded Your life for mine…”

Whew! This line really blows my mind away! Why would Jesus trade His life for mine? Well, the bottom line for salvation, crucifixion, creation, and everything that God has done is this.. LOVE.. Yes that’s it! Jesus Christ offered His body, His blood, His very life for all of us, whether a drunkard, a gambler, a lesbian, a toddler, a president, or even a garbage collector. All at the same time, when He was crucified and raised to life. You and I, we are in the sea of faces. Just turn to Christ and follow Him, and you will definitely be in the Sea of the Most beautiful and happiest faces on earth ’til eternity.

One Floody Day

September 26, 2009 at 3:30 p09 (Uncategorized)

I watched the news just a while ago and I was shocked with what I saw on t.v… a flooded metro Manila!  According to PAG-ASA, the rain which poured on this day, approximately for 6 hours,  was already equivalent to 1 month! WHAATT?! Typhoon Ondoy really showed how destructive he is. This is just one of the innumerable reasons why I am very thankful to God.  It’s not that I am being insensitive to the victims of that devastating typhoon but Davao is really a blessed city. I just pray that phenomenon such as this will serve as a wake up call for all of us to leave our stinky ways behind and choose the right path in life.
